राज्यात खासगी क्‍लासचे वाढते खूळ
शाळेत जाणाऱ्या प्रत्येकाला खासगी कोचिंग क्‍लास हे समीकरण रूढ झाले आहे. महाराष्ट्रासह देशभरात कोचिंग क्‍लासेसचे प्रमाण वाढले असून "कोचिंग क्‍लास' ही समांतर शिक्षण व्यवस्था बळकट झाली आहे. मात्र शैक्षणिक दर्जा दिवसेंदिवस खालावत चालला आहे, असे "असर' या सर्व शिक्षण अभियानाच्या सर्वेक्षणातून स्पष्ट झाले आहे. देशात "खासगी क्‍लास'च्या उद्योगात पाच लाख कोटी रुपयांची उलाढाल होते, असा संस्थेचा अंदाज आहे. दर वर्षी वीस टक्के वेगाने या उद्योगाची वाढ होत आहे.
शालेय शिक्षण व्यवस्थेत "खासगी शिकवण्या' "सक्ती'च्या आहेत, असे चित्र या सर्वेक्षणात स्पष्ट झाले आहे. सर्वात महत्त्वाचे म्हणजे या क्‍लासचे मूळ कारण आहे इंग्रजी विषय. "कोचिंग क्‍लास' लावण्याचे प्रमाण सरकारी शाळांतील विद्यार्थ्यांच्या तुलनेत खासगी शाळांतील विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये अधिक आहे. "असर' संस्थेने नोंदविलेल्या निष्कर्षानुसार देशात शिक्षण व्यवस्थेचे दोन वर्ग निर्माण झाले आहेत. यात मातृभाषेत शिक्षण घेणारा वर्ग साहजिकच आर्थिकदृष्ट्या दुर्बल आहे. मध्यम व श्रीमंत वर्गातील मुले इंग्रजी माध्यमाच्या शाळांत शिक्षण घेतात किंवा तेथे त्यांची मक्तेदारी बनली आहे, असेही चित्र आहे. मातृभाषेत शिक्षण घेणाऱ्या विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये इंग्रजीविषयी भीती असल्याने त्यांचे या विषयाकडे दुर्लक्ष झाले आहे. यापैकी 39.1 टक्के मुलांना इंग्रजीची मुळाक्षरेही वाचता येत नाहीत."
असर' संस्थेच्या सर्वेक्षणानुसार महाराष्ट्र, केरळ, बिहार, ओरिसा, पश्‍चिम बंगालमध्ये खासगी क्‍लासला जाणाऱ्यांचे प्रमाण सर्वाधिक म्हणजे 30 ते 60 टक्‍क्‍यांदरम्यान आहे. खासगी शाळांतील पहिली ते सातवीच्या वर्गांतील मुलांमध्ये हे प्रमाण 12 ते 19 टक्के आहे, तर आठवीत हे प्रमाण 25 टक्के आहे. इंग्रजी विषयाचे फारसे आकलन नसलेल्या पालकांमध्ये इंग्रजीसाठी क्‍लास आवश्‍यक असल्याचा समज असल्यामुळे हे प्रामाण अधिक आहे. खासगी क्‍लासचे प्रमाण वाढण्यामागे हे मुख्य कारण असण्याची शक्‍यता "असर' संस्थेने व्यक्त केली आहे. "खासगी क्‍लास' घेणारे शिक्षक शाळेत गैरहजर असतात. गैरहजर राहणाऱ्यांचे प्रमाण दर चार शिक्षकांमागे एक शिक्षक ऐवढे प्रचंड आहे.

It is true that for almost all school going children private coaching has become a parallel means of education. some classes
provide teaching for all subjects, making it a second school. And irrespective of the ammount of fees, parents do force their kids to join different coaching institutes.
This might have several reasons behind it. One of them is the inability of schools to deliever the subject knowledge properly. Another might be specific for specific children, as per weakness into a perticular subject.
But instead of these two reasons one more thing is a bit strong and that is the kind of mindset our society has towards private classes now a days. If my child is in 10th std. than, he must have tution for maths, english and science atleast. Similar for 12th, similar for Engg and all. That kind of mindset is to be changed.
Many parents send their wards to a perticular class because their friend's children attend the same or a matter of prestige is also a good resason.
Irrespective of these negative points there is a positive side also. This increase in the private coaching indicates the increasing interest of students in academics and increasing level of subject understanding.
