Another crack in the wall
FOR an industry that is a core constituent of the Indian economy, with gross value output of Rs 2,200 billion and one that accounts for 5.2 per cent of the GDP, the steep rise in cement prices is naturally a cause for concern. In a matter of just over three months, the prices have spiralled upwards, thereby forcing builders to make fresh calculations that will possibly push housing rates by almost ten per cent. If that was not enough, the levy of service tax is another bitter pill that will first be swallowed by the builders and then the buyers. What this implies is that flats may soon leap out of the reach of modest income buyers, for whom home loan schemes with affordable monthly instalments were a blessing in disguise. Construction industry fears that rising cement prices will make many homebuyers shy away...

Please start a blog on Maan farmer's plights. Why government is aquiring our land?
We are not against such aquisition, but what do we get after that?
Government took our land for Pimpri-Chinchwad MIDC, Infotech parks, Dams, Express Highways. Where are those people now? All poor farmers are jobless and still poor,landless.
If the development does not reach the affected people, whom this development is for?
Government should stop aquiring our land and play the role of facilitator rather than being broker. Let the industrialist face open market. Insted of providing cheap land they should be given tax benifits or there are some other ways to solve the same problem.
Or they can aquire the land, develop it and give us 15% of the developed plots so that later we can match up with the market value of the land.
Also there should a well defined and published policy of aquiring land. I have seen how this land aqusition works against poor people. They even changed the defined route of Express Highway just to save rich people's farm houses and their so called "scenic views" while at the same time they ran bulldozers on poor people's houses.
today why there is cry for reservation of obc in higher education
if u see data of obc in higher education it is more less than its population so there must b reservation in private sector & education too bcoz if u c 90 % jobs are allocated on basis of refernces and farvriosm of hogher profole persons
it is our right not begging for it
so plz obcs b united to fight for ur right
so plzzz b ready even to file a petition on this in court too
you dont seem to be concerned about the road situation in pune. you've not said anything about it in last so many blog entries...
